Pre-departure support: common questions
Something not covered here? Ask us on WhatsApp and we’ll answer it.
When should I arrive before classes start?
About one to two weeks before, so you can settle in and start registrations without missing classes. Arriving early also leaves time for the first steps after landing: in Italy you must apply for your residence permit within eight working days of arriving, and in France you validate your visa online. We guide you through these.
What documents should I carry?
Your passport and visa, admission letter, original degrees and transcripts with attestations, insurance, accommodation documents and passport photos. Carry them in your hand luggage, and check before you fly that each one is the original and attested where required. We give you a checklist for your destination.
Can I work part-time after arriving?
Yes. Student permits in all three countries allow part-time work within limits set by each country: up to 20 hours a week and 1,040 hours a year in Italy, 964 hours a year in France, and 140 full days a year in Germany. We explain the rules for yours. Income never replaces the funds you prove for the visa.
